Originally a USA-only Mix CD in peak-Electroclash-era 2001, John B has remastered Brainstorm (in his newly built studio), and added 4 previously unreleased tracks from that time including the rare “Synthpop Electro Mix” of ‘Up All Night’ to the package. Previously unavailable anywhere digitally, and now with the individual DJ-Friendly tracks (no DJ Mix version available on Bandcamp as the file is too large), this is a great album for D&B collectors and fans of John’s early explorations into what would become his ‘Electrostep’ Sound.

A ground-breaking 70 minute John B DJ mix of Futuristic Electro & Trance-Influenced Drum & Bass Killers, Drawing on influences from 1980s Electro & Synthpop, Progressive Trance, Breakbeat and Drum & Bass John B has identified a completely new direction for Drum & Bass. Robotic New Wave Synthesizer Action with destructive D&B Basslines. Vocoded Retro Lyrics, infectious Drum Machine techno-funk and beautiful euphoric vocals lead D&B through a new phase of Evolution in a seamless mix that sounds just as good at home as on the dancefloor.

The first track is somewhat educational, and i'm sure the album cover is a Dyson Sphere. Dangerous Idea is hard to listen to at first, but it's also exactly what a dangerous idea feels like. Immune System is my happy place ;) and the guy who's speaking in the sample sounds like Ballas in Warframe. What a shame tracks 12 & 13 aren't on the CD or vinyl. The best tracks are often excluded from physical releases, i wish that wasn't so. D: There are many phat rollers here, very good album! Naoki of Nihilo
